Fondazione Toscanini
Fondazione Arturo Toscanini is among the most important and dynamic music institutions in Italy, specialised in the production of symphonic and opera performances, and in professional training of young people in the performing arts and jobs. Each year, it stages around 100 symphonic concerts and 40 opera performances in the most prestigious Italian and international venues.
With its Community Music programme, La Toscanini highlights the role of music to pursue a higher quality of life, dignity and development of social justice and wellbeing, contributing to find new solutions for the expression of individual potentials, a privileged way to combat all forms of discriminations. The programme focuses on dreams and needs of young generations, children, adolescents and their families, as well as vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities or in socio-economic disadvantage and their caregivers. Community Music points to the creation of a territorial network bringing together schools, cultural and social work organisations, libraries, youth centres and hospitals, to cooperate for the creation of educational and recreational activities for these targets.
